MISSION

We aim to inform the residents of Raleigh about Flock Safety and similar systems, while advocating for responsible limits and meaningful reform of their use in our community.

PROBLEM

AI Mass Surveillance Systems provide unprecedented powers to government and present a clear potential for abuse. The Flock Safety System lacks the design features and controls to adequately protect privacy.

The Raleigh Police Department has not been adequately transparent and has not shown they have controls in place to prevent abuse of the system.

Towards Transparency and Citizen Privacy

Believing technology can help solve crime does not require citizens to surrender their privacy or blindly accept the surveillance tradeoffs imposed in the name of public safety.

We can design better technology. We can implement practices that protect our communities and safeguard privacy. And we can demand oversight, transparency, and accountability.
